Back in love with the Fro…

Hi loves,

I do hope you all had a beautiful fun filled Easter weekend. It’s been a lovely one for me, very relaxed, catching up with friends, celebrating birthdays. and just generally kicking back. It really is great taking time off work isn’t it?.Anyways, it’s been a while since I shared on  here anything about the ‘fro’, truth is I have been struggling with  a love/hate relationship with it for sometime. There was a point when i seriously thought of going back on the ol’ relaxer but my good friends talked me out of it. They knew I would regret it and they were right, thank you friends!

I don’t know if you remember, I had braids some time last year which seriously damaged my hairline and I did all I could to get it back on track (read it here) . Truth is, it was going great until it wasn’t, somehow the growth stalled and for some reason even styling it became a problem. The curl pattern was just off , I was so desperate I kept changing products quite regularly to see if anything would help. I used the Cantu range, Shea Moisture range to name a few to no avail. I finally went back to using As I am products, particularly the Coconut Cowash on wash days and the  Double Butter Cream for moisture, it made all the difference. My hair got back to a state I was very happy with. I have no idea why I stopped using it in the first place.

I suppose the moral of the story is, for us curly girls,  not all products that are advertised constantly are for everyone, what works for Suzy may not necessarily work for Zools ;-). The trick is to find something that works for you and stick with it. All that is done by trial and error of course but when you find something that works, stick with it and save that schmoney honey !!

Here is to a great short week!

Till next time
